iBiz future?

Postby daz » Tue Jun 26, 2007 12:05 pm

Just wondered what the plans were for the next major update to iBiz. I know we had 3.0 in Jan, but I do feel that iBiz needs more features and improvements to keep up with the competition.

Top of my list for next major release are:

• Time sheets

• Customisable 'Status' options

• Saveable 'To Do' suites

• Ability to fully edit invoices after creation (MUST HAVE!)

• GUI improvements. I would like to see a sleeker interface without so many icons and toolbars.

Right now we're focused on developing iBank 3. Once that's pretty well in hand, we'll turn our attention back to iBiz. That said, your list of suggestions seems pretty good to me. All of the items you mentioned (except maybe custom To Do items) are high on the priority list.

Hi Jon, I thought that might be the case as iBank does seem to be the more high profile product of the two. I don't have a problem with that being an iBank user also, but I would just like to see iBiz become a more complete product for my needs.

What's the planned release schedule for iBank 3 whilst we're on the topic?

We don't have a release timetable yet; we're hoping to have it out by the end of the year. You'll notice that our production schedule alternates between iBiz and iBank - back and forth - as we go along :)

Jon, how about a teaser article outlining some of the features we can expect to see in the next version of iBiz. I know we've had the bug fix updates, but in the 7 months or so that iBiz 3 has been around no real feature requests have been added.

Sorry, we're not ready to do that just yet. Once iBank 3 is out, then we'll turn our attention back to iBiz.

Ok Jon point taken, I'll stop going on about it for now! ;-)

Another feature request I would like to see is an 'Employee' column in the Events window. At present I have to get my staff to enter their name in the Notes panel.
