If you're like me, now that I'm a paying customer, i never visit the website's front page any more. So I was surprised to find on MacUpdate.com that iBank 3.5.5 was available for download. I came here and checked the forums, but nothing other than someone asking why it wasn't in French any more. So I went and checked the IGG Blog. Nope, not a word. So I visited the front page, and find that iBank 3.5.5 was released last Tuesday, almost a week ago!
Come on, guys! When you make an update, how about letting us know about it, okay?

In your Preferences > General, you have an option to notify you of updates. If you have that checked, when you open iBank it will tell you a new version is available and what has changed.

It is. It didn't.
I see on the twitter feed that they show it announced it today, but on the front page link it was announced February 2. Maybe just a typo on the 2/2 date.

Do you know what has been changed on 3.5.5? I do not see anything about this on the homepage.

According to IGG's release notes:
This update features improved QIF exports, investment calculations involving "Move Shares", and importing of split transfers, along with several other bug fixes.
According to MacUpdate.com:
Version 3.5.5:
* Fixed security calculation bug with Move Shares action
* Improved QIF importing for split transfers
* Improved importing categories with • in the name
* Fixed nasty bug where deleting an investment account wouldn't preserve other accounts' balances
* Fixed bug where cleared balance wouldn't update after an import
* Fixed bug with ROI summary total in Reports
* Fixed bug where stale Scheduled Transaction values could be used in a Forecast
* Fixed bug with some move shares calculations
* Fixed bug where "Div" wasn't properly recognized for QIF imports
* Fixed ROI calculation when Move Shares is involved
* Fixed issue where QIF export assigned wrong account type to investment accounts
* Fixed issue where QIF export split transactions weren't compatible with Quicken
* Fixed issue where QIF export did not always include transaction types
* Fixed issue where Cash accounts were not exported to QIF with correct type
* Fixed issue where account info list wasn't added to QIF export
* Fixed bug with Capital Gains report and Move Shares
Versiontracker.com seems to have the same list. It doesn't seem to include fixing the bug where an account can't have the word "account" in its name and work in Smart Portfolio.

I can attest that this bug has been fixed. It occurred with my QIF import previously, and now it imports correctly.

They may have fixed the "Move Shares" calculation, but the "Start & End Value" calculations use "Adjusted Closing Price" which, IMHO, throws off the calculation.
smorris wrote: * Fixed bug with Capital Gains report and Move Shares
Again, they may have fixed the "Move Shares" bug, but the Capital Gains report still includes Money Market Accounts, which it shouldn't.

Re: iBank 3.5.5 is available!
The strangest part (for me) is I bought and downloaded the app from download page and didn't get the most recent version. The only reason I found the update was I played with the preferences and selected the notify on update choice. Why wouldn't this website deliver the most recent version?
I wasted a bunch of time trying to import files, with no luck, but they worked fine once the update was installed.

I had a couple of crashes today after installing 3.5.5., so my jury is considering this one carefully.

Re: iBank 3.5.5 is available!
Since I bought mine, Preferences has always been set to notify me of updates. I have never received any communication. I am still on 3.5 since July 2009. If I downloaded the very recent one, will that bring me up to date, or do I have to go backward and download each update, one by one.? Thanks for your forthcoming help.

Re: iBank 3.5.5 is available!
You can download 3.5.6 and install it in place of your current version - no other updates should be required until we release a new version. If your update notifications are not working properly, I'd suggest simply toggling the preference off and on again - this will usually fix the problem.

Re: iBank 3.5.5 is available!
Thanks Jon, maybe I have not explained better. There has been several updates since my original bought one year ago. The 3.5!! Then there were several updates after the 3.5 that I did not download. Can I download the latest 3.5.5 and would that include all the previous 3.5.1, 3.5.2, etc. of the updates that I do not have? Thanks.

Yes, download the latest. IGG does not really release "updates"...each release is a full version of the program complete with everything. You can go direct from 3.5 to 3.6 just by downloading the latest copy.
